Oklahoma Sooners head coach Bob Stoops thinks player who turn in shady agents should be given amnesty.
It is one of the solutions that Stoops came up with for keeping players from interacting with agents.
Players having improper contact with agents has been a theme as we head into the college football season.
Several notable programs are under investigation because players have been contacted by agents and interacted with them. ( Read More…)

Oklahoma Sooners head coach Mike Stoops is ready for his team to bounce back after a disappointing 2009 season.
The team came into the season with national title hopes but ended up playing Stanford in the Sun Bowl.
A shoulder injury to quarterback Sam Bradford and a knee injury to tight end Jermaine Gresham tore the season apart.
Before the season was over, Oklahoma used 10 different starters on their offensive line. So much for cohesion. ( Read More…)

The Texas Longhorns decided against a move to the Pac-10, essentially saving the Big 12 conference.
Texas decided to stay put after several other Big 12 schools pledged to stick with the conference.
Had Texas left the Big 12, other teams would have quickly followed suit, breaking up the conference. ( Read More…)

Oklahoma Sooners head coach Bob Stoops said he is not the least bit concerned about potential conference expansion.
Stoops said he believes Oklahoma would be attractive to any conference and that they will be in great shape no matter what happens.
He added that the Big 12 conference could always look to add more teams in response to moves from other leagues.
The coach also said that Oklahoma could always choose to go to another conference if the Big 12 wasn’t cutting it anymore.
This is the first time a college coach has come out and been so candid about their feelings toward expansion, which has been quietly swept under the table by nearly everyone else.

The Oklahoma Sooners seem to be falling apart after a disappointing season and the news that four players and an assistant coach have decided to leave the program.
Head coach Jeff Capel doesn’t see it that way, and he believes the changes are actually good news as the team tries to put such a poor seaso behind them.
Capel denied receiving calls from Wake Forest and Clemson about their open head coaching positions and said he has no interest in going anywhere else.
He also made it clear that he has never done anything just for money in his career and that he has never been made that way.
The program is under investigation for potential violations during Kelvin Sampson’s tenure as head coach, but Capel seems unconcerned about potential sanctions.

Oklahoma Sooners point guard Willie Warren has announced his intentions to enter the NBA Draft.
Warren’s stock was really high after his freshman year, but it came tumbling down this past season.
He did not look anything like the player he was his freshman year and had disagreements with head coach Jeff Capel.
He then missed 10 games with an ankle injury and eventually underwent surgery to correct the problem.
Capel said that he believes Warren is ready to compete at the next level and is in full support of his decision.

The Oklahoma Sooners never really had a chance in an 81-68 loss to the No. 1 Kansas Jayhawks.
Oklahoma struggled right out of the gate, missing their first eight shots and quickly trailing by double-digits.
Head coach Jeff Capel tried to calm his players, telling them they were alright and shots would eventually fall.
Some shots did eventually fall, but not nearly enough to keep pace with the Jayhawks well-rounded offensive attack.
The Sooners are now 0-7 in Big 12 road games this year, and Capel is now 0-4 lifetime against the Jayhawks.

As if things haven’t been tough enough for the Oklahoma Sooners, they have now lost star guard Willie Warren indefinitely to mononucleosis.
Warren is currently the team’s leading scorer at 16.2 points per game. He did not travel with the team this week in their loss to the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
He is currently 10th in the Big 12 in scoring and received his fair share of votes for the preseason All-American team.
It hasn’t been smooth sailing for Warren, who has had a disappointing season by his standards and has had some issues with his head coach over his role on the team.
Head coach Jeff Capel said there is no timetable for Warren’s return. He said that some players can make it back in weeks, while others miss a couple of months.

The Oklahoma Sooners didn’t come close to achieving their lofty goals this season, but they’ll get the opportunity to finish on a high note: The Sooners will take on the Stanford Cardinal in the Sun Bowl.
Oklahoma will have a chance to make a statement for the Big 12 as well as itself in this game. For the first time in years, experts agree that the Pac-10 has been far superior to the Big 12 this season. But bowl season is looked at the best way to truly determine this, as matchups typically feature teams that finished in the same position in different conferences.
The Sooners have already received a break heading into this affair: Stanford’s young star quarterback Andrew Luck is going to miss the game with an injury. Oklahoma could certainly use the break, as its defense will already have its hands full trying to slow down Heisman Trophy runner-up Toby Gearhart.

Oklahoma Sooners head coach Bob Stoops said he is staying put and will remain the coach at the university.
Stoops has been linked to the Notre Dame opening after the school decided to fire Charlie Weis.
Notre Dame does have Stoops on their short list of coaching candidates, but it is unclear as to whether or not they have contacted him yet.
Many felt Stoops might decide to leave Oklahoma given that many of his top players are graduating or heading to the NFL.
Some also believe that the coach may have reached the pinnacle already at Oklahoma and never get back to the top.
